Common questions
The honest answers.
Do I really own it?
Yes, properly. The domain is registered in your name and the website files are yours.
I host it free either way, plan or no plan. Keep me on monthly and I make the changes for you too. If you'd
rather go it alone, you take the lot with you. Nothing switches off and there's nothing to cancel your way out of.
Do I even need a website?
Not always. If word of mouth already keeps your diary full, you may not need one yet. A
website earns its keep when you want your reviews, photos and enquiries somewhere you own.
Will people actually find me on Google?
I can't promise you the top spot, and anyone who does is having you on. What I can do is
the stuff that actually works: a fast, mobile-first site with the right local wording (your trade, your
towns), written properly, which is the sort of thing Google likes to see. If you fancy a Google Business
Profile too, I'll happily point you at Google's own guide so you can set one up yourself. And I'll always
be straight about what any of it will actually do.
Why not just use Wix or Squarespace?
Honestly? If you've got the evenings spare to learn them, they're grand. But most tradespeople
don't, and a half-built site that never quite goes live helps nobody. I do the lot for you, get it found on
Google, hand you the keys, and you get back on the tools. Your time's worth more than fighting a website
builder.
Can I change things later?
Course. Need a new number, a fresh photo, a price tweaked or your hours changed? Message me and
I'll sort it. Small edits to what's already there are part of the monthly; your plan on the Pricing page says
how many and how fast. Bigger jobs I'll quote you first. No tickets, no runaround.
How long does it take?
The One-Pager goes live within 7 working days of your photos and words landing with me,
quicker than most trades quote for a fence. The Multi-Page takes about two weeks. First draft in front of
you well before that, so we knock it into shape together and set it live.
What do the extras cost?
Between £15 and £50, one-off, all priced up on the Pricing page. Nothing sneaks onto a
bill. If it's bigger than a bolt-on it's a job, and jobs get quoted first, same as yours do.
What do you need from me?
Less than you'd think. Photos of your work (the ones on your phone are fine), a few lines
about what you do and the areas you cover, and your logo if you've got one. No logo? No problem. I sort the
domain, the hosting and the rest. On the Multi-Page and the Showpiece I write the words for you as well; on
the One-Pager you send me the words and I do the building.
What happens if you can't look after my site anymore?
Fair question, and it's the reason the ownership works the way it does. The domain is
registered in your name, the files are yours from the off, and you hold the logins, so nothing you've paid
for is locked away in my account. If I disappeared tomorrow you could hand the lot to any other developer
and carry on, without needing a thing from me.
Can I actually ring you?
There's no number on this site, and I'd sooner tell you why than have one ring out.
There's one of me, and when I'm mid-build I'm head-down in it, so a phone answered badly would be worse than
a form answered properly. Put it in writing instead, on the form at the bottom of this page or to
hello@bingebuilt.co.uk, and you'll get a proper reply from me, not a bot, within one working day. If you'd
rather talk it through, put your number in the message and I'll ring you. Writing also means we've both got
a record of what was said.
